A “Designer Dog”, The Cairmal is a cross between a
pure-bred Cairn Terrier and a pure-bred Maltese
The Cairn is all terrier...bold, hardy, inquisitive,
clever and scrappy. It enjoys playing with children and is
tough enough to withstand some rough-housing. It can get
aggressive with other dogs and can't resist chasing small animals.
For all his diminutive size, the Maltese seems to be
without fear. He is trusting, affectionate and among the gentlest
mannered of all little dogs. He is lively and playful as well as
vigorous. Despite his size the Maltese is without fear. The Maltese
is a good choice for people who live in small apartments because of
his size, but for the same reason it is not a good candidate for
those with small children, unless the owner can provide constant
supervision. Highly intelligent and good at learning tricks, Maltese
also tend to get along with other pets well. A good watchdog, they
love to romp and play.
